I hope this mail finds you all well. Welcome to my last mail of the forties. Only one away from my half century…..
1. Thanks to all those who attended our Our St Patrick’s evening of music, food and fun on Saturday. Special thanks for Mandy and Andy for making the evening happen! I can not tell you how important such nights are for North Enfield. It’s gets all members and friends together and of course at the same time raises vital funds for our brilliant little cricket club.
2. With the help of Mark Ricketts, I have setup an online questionnaire to find out what you think of NECC and give you the opportunity to feedback your ideas and suggestions for the future. Please can you spend 10 minutes filling in the form and submit (no need for names if you don’t want to). Knowing what you want helps all of us on the committee shape a club for all members. Thanks in advance! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/T8YQB3D
3. Please be reminded that indoor nets are booked at St Mary's School, Cheshunt from 1st to 29th April inclusive. All seniors are welcome, you might even have a mate who fancies starting/playing again then please bring him/her along. Time 19.00-20.00.
4. A few of us made a really good start on Saturday on ground preparation. A good start, but there is soooooooo much to do inside and out. Workrota weekends are set, PLEASE mark these off in your diary and do your bit, seniors, parents and juniors. The more the merrier!
Natwest Work Weekend = 5+6th April - Gleno's legendary bacon rolls to be served to all on the Saturday morning! Followed by the weekend of 12+13th April
5. A reminder that the North London Coaching Bursary is a really useful scheme to assist with the cost of coaching qualifications. If anyone wants to get qualified, then please let me know. At the end of the day we need more help and qualified people to run Wednesday nights, Junior summer league teams, winter nets and so on. Six members have completed coaching, scoring and umpiring over the winter, plus child welfare and first aid courses. The club has arranged the funding. All have really enjoyed it, why not you too? Please let me know if you want follow in their qualified footsteps.....
6. One of the (big) benefits of us being now fully affiliated with Middlesex (all down to Clubmark) is for all members to become affiliate Middlesex members. To me it is a no-brainer, you only need to go to one match to get the benefit!
"Dear James
I am delighted to announce the Middlesex County Cricket Club are once again offering membership of the county club in 2014 at an unbelievable price to those who play cricket at MCB affiliated clubs within the county. All those who have a playing membership at your club are entitled to this offer so I would very much appreciate you circulating the information to both your senior and junior sections.
For those under 18, the price of membership will be £10 and for those over 18, membership will cost a mere £20. The membership will give the playing member access to all Middlesex home matches which include LV Championship matches, Royal London One Day Cup matches, NatWest T20 Blast matches and our touring match against India. The membership is valid at Lord’s and at all our home out ground matches.
Joining this year could not be simpler, all that is required is to fill in the form https://www.middlesexcccshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Affiliate-Club-Membership-Form.pdf and send it back to the Middlesex office for the attention of James Keightley with the appropriate payment. Once the club has paid it’s MCB subscriptions for the 2014 season the cards will be sent to you as the main contact for you to then distribute to the members.
Best wishes
Vinny Codrington
MCCC Chief Executive"
I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. North Enfield CC then please let me know.
