I hope this mail finds everyone well. I have just stopped coughing for the first time since late December so am feeling in good spirits. It is fair to say that 2018 is already a mixed one for our club.....
On the upside our New Year's Eve Party was a great success and I'm pleased to say we raised around £1,000! Thanks to all for attending and also to all those that bought raffle tickets for our ground equipment fund raiser. Having such a well supported party is welcome income in our cash starved winter and the event provided a cash boost for much needed ground equipment!
On the downside our garages were broken into a couple of weeks ago which is an extra aggravation; we are in mid-insurance negotiation at the minute. Apart from a pressure washer they could not take much owing to our security, but they have written off the doors. A few garages in the area were targeted that weekend and some were hit harder.
I met with Nick Munt and our Junior coaches last week. We are getting organised for the upcoming season and currently arranging fixtures, refreshing qualifications, planning sessions etc. A letter with all details for the 2018 will be sent out soon, I will send it to this group and Nick will send to all of last year's parents. If there are any friends or family that are interested in attending this year, please ask them to contact me, or email me their email address or forward on the letter. We are always looking for new recruits.....
As I say, planning is well underway for the season. To gain all opinions I have put together a short Mailchimp survey, targeting all sections and members of the club. Please complete the short survey to help us make plans for you and learn from your ideas. All contributions are welcome please.

Finally as per previous correspondence, our AGM is on 11th February starting at 1930. Please do come along and have your say on how your club is run. As per Owen's letter our Management Team is very stable, but we are looking for a new Bar Secretary this season. This is such an important role as the bar funds us as a club. If you want to learn more about the role or just want to do part of the role please contact me, Colonel, Richard Barber or Owen for more info. Our club is run by volunteers, please put your hand up if you can, we are well run and you will not be doing the role alone I can assure you.
I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. our club then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
James
