Thanks to the few that turned up to work rota this weekend. Numbers attending both days were beyond disappointing. I really try to make my mails upbeat as we have sooooooooo many positives going on in all areas of our club, but we have to put our hands up when help is required and all do our bit. If you have played Saturday, Sunday or midweek cricket or your son/daughter has played cricket, then all players / parents have a duty to prepare for next season. Only a handful of people moved 6 pallets of loam on Sunday which is simply not fair or sustainable. We have another weekend of workrota this weekend, please get up to the club for a few hours, we still have lots to do. Thanks to those that did attended this weekend under the stewardship of Darren Atkins, all efforts were Herculean!
A few more things from me,
1. If you have any kit of belongings at the club and you want it, then please remove by the end of the coming weekend. We are well overdue a big tidy up and I will be spearheading it. All areas are going to be looked at, not just the changing rooms. You have been warned.....
2. Kathryn tells me that Dinner + Dance tickets are selling fast and she has confirmed to all those that have expressed interest already, she will be in touch shortly for payment. Please contact Kathryn on 07815 858931 or email [email protected] to confirm your interest. I look forward to seeing you there.....
3. As stated before, money is very tight at our cricket club and social events allow us to play cricket, it is that simple. So all tickets and drinks sold over the bar are the lifeblood of cricket at North Enfield.
With that in mind we must have a New Years Eve party this year and we must all please make every effort to get there. As previous years, the night will be family friendly and there will be music and food on offer. Andy MacMurdie is keen to organise the event (any other help welcome) and would like to know now from all members whom is keen to attend and how many tickets do you require? Please mail [email protected] or reply back to me and confirm you are interested.
I know NYE is some time away, but we want to get in your diary now. Please do not leave supporting the event to someone else, the club needs your support please!!
4. Finally I'm delighted to enclose a certificate confirming that we raised £510 in memory of our teammate Tony Deacon. Thanks to all of those who contributed!!
I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. North Enfield CC then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
James
