Well I'm not long in from the last Junior session of the season and I can safely say we have two disappointed boys in bed. It is a shame good things must come to an end, but we have had another brilliant season! Please come along on the 15th September for our Junior Presentation Night to reminisce and celebrate all the boys and girls achievements.
I did summarise each of the junior team league finishes in my last email and I mentioned that our U10s got though to finals day at Hitchin CC on Sunday. Well I can safely say I was a very proud parent and Chairman and the boys did brilliantly considering we played much older and strong teams. In the semi-final we played Chorleywood CC and had our second 'last ball of the game win' of the week (many coaches, parents and grandparents hearts were thumping). In the final, the team had their first loss of the season against Wheathamstead CC who were the defending champions. Now is not the time to go into the details, but safe to say the boys were brilliantly prepared and supported and they gave it their all; they enjoyed victory and suffered the disappointment of defeat with their heads held high. They were a credit to their parents and our club. With almost all the boys staying in this age group next season, let's hope we can go one better in 2018.....
Back in my Mail no. 111 I wanted to make public what the qualifications are for our end of season awards and who gets on our fabulous Honours Boards. Thanks to all those that have helped shape the attached and apologies to all for only just distributing, but please find attached in black and white the final document. Any questions please ask me.
We had a follow-up visit re. Clubmark tonight and other work continues behind the scenes. Initial feedback is that we remain in good shape, but I will update you when I have something in writing from Middlesex CCC.....
Our Saturday league teams continue to represent us brilliantly well in the Herts Saracens League. Though availability remains an issue. Please do your best play and let Kieran and Mark know to save their phone bills. Good luck for the rest of the season boys.....
Finally for now we will be organising some family camping on the outfield on the Saturday of the end of August Bank Holiday. More details to follow but we have some plans for the Sunday and Monday with the regular league cricket taking place on the Saturday.
I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. our club then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
James
