Hope this mail finds you all well.
Firstly and most importantly I want to thank everyone for all support for my Chairman's Game on 20th July. In my opinion the day could not have been better. A super game of cricket which went to the last ball, our juniors playing (and winning) a super match at tea vs Holtwhites, old friends/faces popping up to the club, lovely teas and seeing lots of spectators soaking up the sun at Strayfield Road. However most importantly to see Tony Deacon's wife, children and family being at the club and supporting it and us was just brilliant! I wanted us to raise £450 from the day, well we are 88% there as you will see by following the link

Please if you have not already, make a donation in memory of our friend Tony and help get us over the line, please....
2. After the league game on the 23rd August we are planning a 'Camp out' for all members and children. Darren Atkins is championing this and in his words
"The plan is to camp after the game on Saturday night and to have a fun day for the kids with a bouncy castle, option to camp on the Sunday depending on the weather.
Games will be held during the day on Sunday, including rounders, kwik cricket and if hot enough maybe some water games.
The Colonel wants to have a cricket 20/20 match during the day for his 170th and Del's sweet 16th.
Full details will develop as interest levels become clear.
Basic details = £5 per tent, bacon rolls for breakfast and BBQ Saturday evening.
All are welcome to add things or take on stuff.
I just want to raise a little money for the club, do something social and involve all families.
Darren"
Please mail Darren on [email protected] or call him on 07930 609578 to show support or share ideas. Thanks Darren for organising this!
3. President's Putter golf day to Sunday 19th October. All members and Junior parents are welcome. Again a flyer and full details are on our homepage.
4. A reminder that our Junior Presentation Night will be held in the Pavilion on Friday 12th September. Evening will include games and bingo starting at 18.30. Snacks, cakes and drink will be on sale all night. Tickets cost £2.50 for each Junior, all parents and family members = free. Please buy tickets from Phil Jones or the tuckshop servers.
5. Finally cricket availability has been so difficult this year. It results on so much pressure on the skippers. Frankly speaking we have to work on some solutions for next season. Date will follow, but I want to call a players meeting at the end of the season to get us all thinking and working together next season....
I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. North Enfield CC then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
James
