A recent Sunday opposition skipper mailed the club after playing us and sent the following message
"Thanks for a great game... lovely ground, lovely pavilion and lovely team atmosphere."
Receiving such messages makes all the hard work very worth while, we know we are getting a lot of things right, but there is always more to do......
A few things from me.
- We as a club nominated Richard Sanders aka. The Colonel, our Life Member, Treasurer and Groundsman for the Middlesex CCC 2017 OSCAs, which is their 'unsung heroes of club cricket' awards. I am pleased to say that Richard was shortlisted and has been written to by Middlesex to thank him for all his efforts and has been sent some tickets for a game at Lord's. Please see my application form attached; Richard I know you hate the limelight, but thanks so much for all you do for our cricket club!!
- Thanks also to Alec Halley for replacing our exterior door by the kitchen. We had put a bid in for a new door to match our double fire exit, but we fell at the final hurdle, so we had to find another way. I'm so pleased we have a long term secure solution. Alec thanks again!
- Speaking of investment and improvements, we are already planning for the post season. If you or a company can donate building supplies or labour to us then please do let me know. Top of our list of jobs include a replacement outfield mower and roller, new roofs for the garages and loam shed, new white goods and cooker for the kitchen and relay our veranda. This is just a starter, any other ideas are welcome.
- The ECB have launched their 2017 Cricket Survey. I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. our club then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
James
