I don't know about you but I have no idea how we got to the end of September! Last game this weekend and then we look forward to the spring/ summer 2020.
Preparations have already begun for next season off the field but the first two weekends of October are our post-season work rotas. They are in the fixture card and take place every year so this is not a surprise. For any new members, we have to cut back and reseed/surface all the wickets to enable cricket to take place on them next summer. If you have played or enjoyed watching cricket this summer, you owe it to the club to spare a few hours to prepare. The more of us that help, the more it shares out the workload. Please do your bit as there are lots of jobs to do, inside and out. Weekends are 5/ 6 and 12/ 13 September from 9am.
We have two social events to look forward to in the coming months.
- 12th October - Family Quiz Night @ NECC. Tables of 8ish, £2 per person and the bar will be open. More details to follow in my next mail. Please let Steve Gilmore know if you can come. If you cannot get 8, then no worries we would be happy to make up teams....
- 22nd November - NECC Dinner & Dance to be held at Enfield Ignatians Rugby Club (EIRFC). Ticket will be £35 for adults and £25 for our U15 players. Price includes a three-course meal and DJ. Kathryn is organising again this year, please contact her at [email protected] to book a place or table.
I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. our club then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
James
