Well to begin this mail I will go straight for the good news. Congratulations to our 1st XI under the guidance of Kieran Jones and Chris Gillman who have been promoted into Division 2B of the Saracens Herts League! Well done to all those who have played and supported the team this season. There is more to this story after controversially, the last game of the season was cancelled. I can not say much more as we have strongly appealed the decision to the league and I do not want to jepodise any appeal. I will update you when I can.....
Also well done to our 2s. Please bear in mind that they have enjoyed back to back promotions so a solid mid-table final position in 6B is no mean feat! Again well done to Mark Ricketts, Alex Williams and all players!
There are still a few more weeks of cricket to go; our six a side tournament takes place on Saturday - if you want to play please call / make contact with Mark Ricketts or Darren Atkins and Sunday cricket fixtures are there to be played before the nights draw in. Please contact Dave Malleson or Neil McHugh to get your fix.
What else is occurring?
- Tomorrow night we have our Junior Presentation Evening. All members are welcome to applaud and congratulate all our future stars following another successful season. Tickets are £2 per Junior and can be bought on the door.
- End of Season Work Rotas will take place on the weekends of the 3/4 and 9/10 October. I don't care if you are a Junior, a parent, a Saturday, a Sunday or an occasional player everyone has a duty to spend a few hours over the four days to prepare the facilities and table for next season. Please do not leave vital work to other people.
- We are planning a family Halloween / Bonfire Night (no fireworks) on the 30th October. £15 per family which includes food, hot chocolate, sparklers and games. Please contact Phil Jones to register interest so we can start planning.
- Our Dinner and Dance will be held on 14 November @ Crews Hill GC. We have booked a Saturday this year which we will hope will enable even more people to come. More details to follow, but please mark your diaries to celebrate another all round successful season for North Enfield.
- Finally Andy Macmurdie is planning a family New Years Eve Party. Please let him or me know if you plan to join so we can gauge interest.
I hope you enjoy the last few weeks of the season and please support your club on and off the field as best you can.I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. North Enfield CC then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
