I just wanted to drop everyone a few lines with some news from North Enfield.
Firstly thanks for all those that did support, but unfortunately we were not awarded money in the Aviva funding application. Awards can be found following this link https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/winners. This just shows that funding is not guaranteed, but rest assured, that we have lost out in the past and will try again. Special thanks to Dave Malleson in sticking his hand up on this one and Tony Hutchinson in highlighting it in the first place.
A quick update to work in the pavilion, I can confirm that we have new fire exit doors on order and they are being made currently. Not sure when they will be fitted but I am chasing the company to get them in ASAP! Also thanks to Andy Mac the male and disabled toilets have been revolutionised! Thanks Andy for all work.
Our junior and senior cricket teams have all tasted success in the first half of the season. Well done and thanks to all those that have made themselves available and represent our club with such distinction! Thanks especially to all skippers, vice skipper and junior match managers for keeping everybody organised.
Finally I know we both don't look it, but Phil Jones and I are both 40 this year. We are planning a game of cricket on Sunday 30th August and invite all members and friends to join us to celebrate! Please see the attached invite which should answer most questions. If not please drop and line to Phil or I. We just ask that you RSVP as per the invite so we can cater for people in the evening. I should also say that there are plans for a family / junior cricket day on the Bank Holiday Monday, more details to follow.....
That's me for now and see you at Strayfield Road in the near future......
I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. North Enfield CC then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
James Scott
NECC Chairman
