I want to start by paying tribute to our President Alan Wood whose funeral many members attended last Thursday. The day was a fitting tribute with a moving service at Enfield Crematorium followed by some drinks and food back at the pavilion. I know how thankful Ralph, Malcolm and the rest of the family have been for all words of support and for people attending the service. It's at times like this that I certainly realise just how special club environments are. Woody you will be missed.....
Thanks to all attendees at the Dinner and Dance on Saturday. A lot of work goes into these nights, but it is all worthwhile when the event is well supported. It is an important night in the club's calendar and something we all need to support to ensure the evening continues to take place.
Talking of support, we have our Pavillion Relaunch Party this coming Friday. Please come along for a drink at the remodelled bar and listen to some live music. If you are coming please let Andy or Mandy MacMurdie know so we can cater for everyone. I look forward to seeing you there.....
We are hoping to hold a family New Year's Eve Party at the club this year. The club is desperate for income over the winter so a NYE party is just what we need! Not only will it be a great chance to catch up with each other, but we will be generating much neededfunds for the club. There is a minimum number of people that we need to attend / support the night. If you want to come please contact Andy or Mandy as soon as possible
Sorry for the delay in holding the players meeting. We had to postpone the original date as the pavilion was not fit to hold the event and we could not find another suitable venue. I know Kieran and Mark are working on another date between them and will circulate to all players when the date is set.
Finally, we have a date set for the AGM, Sunday 5th February 2017 starting at 19.30 in the pavilion. Please get it in the diary and come along to have your say on how the club is run. If you want to stand for any position on management, including Chairman, please get in touch with Owen or myself. No post is protected so if you want to get involved please speak up!
I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. our club then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
James
