So given that the weather forecast for the weekend looks much better than the last two, we have one last essential job to do on the ground, which is spread loam and seed over our wickets in preparation for 2020. If we can get enough people to help then it won’t take too long and will mean we can all play another summer on fantastic wickets at North Enfield.
We will be starting around 11.00 (need time for the dew to dry from the surface and England will have beaten the Aussies in the egg-chasing), so anybody who can turn up for any length of time will be a real help! Please don't leave it up to someone else and do your bit no matter what age or section of the club....
After years (and I'm not exaggerating) of chasing various people and departments at the council, finally, they cut down our hedges today. What a difference! Thanks to those that have finally made this happen, especially Mally, AP, Colonel, Del and our local counsellors!
Remember our Dinner & Dance is 22nd November. If you have not told her, please let Kathryn know that you want to attend, she needs to know numbers and plan the night.
Finally thanks to all those that attended our Quiz Night last weekend. Brilliant attendance and a good night was had in the safe hands of 'Happy the Quizmaster'!
I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. our club then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
James
