Can you believe it's June already! We are well into our season and there is lots going on both on and off the field. There have already been some brilliant performances from junior and senior players and we continue to make so much progress.
As has been stated several times, even though we are very well run and operate to as lowest operating costs as possible, it still takes about £18,000 to run our club each season in rent, insurance, machinery maintenance / servicing / fuel, electricity, water, alarm, league registrations, balls, coaching qualifications etc etc. But we collect no more than £12,000 in from membership subs and match fees (and that is if we don't loose games to the weather). So there is pressure to make up the difference and this is even without the considerable investment that we have undertaken in the last 8 years with new nets, new covers, new toilets, new fire exit doors, new outdoor containers, full pavilion refurbishment, various new outdoor machinery including our brand new roller. These benefit all members both young and old and players / non-players. So as well as funding applications we must have some social events to generate money over the bar. We as a committee enjoy our roles and we work very well as a settled team, but we can't do everything. All members can help hugely to ensure our club stays stable and continues to make progress by
- Paying membership money promptly and always having match fees when you play. Our new till has a card reader and is set up for match fees and membership so there are no excuses. If you have not paid in 2018 please do so ASAP.
- If a mail or Whatsapp is sent requesting volunteer bar-staff please try to make yourself available. We urge more of us do just one night a year to help the club, full training will be given. At the minute a small handfull are doing way more than can be reasonably expected. If you are a member of our great club then please please please do put your hand up and let me, Andy MacMurdie, Derrick Sanders or Dave Malleson know that you are available.

I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. our club then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
