A couple of days ago we received a mail that we have much longed for, it reads:
"Dear North Enfield,
We are delighted to write and confirm that following a review of your ECB Clubmark online file, your accreditation has been confirmed. Congratulations to all those involved at your club for this achievement and for all that they do to promote cricket locally. Having a network of sustainable clubs is vital for the future of the game and achieving Clubmark status shows that you and your volunteers are at the forefront of this.
Your accreditation lasts for 3 years, but to maintain the accreditation status you are required to complete a short form annual health check in the intervening 2 years. If you have any questions regarding the scheme then please e-mail [email protected]
Congratulations again on becoming an ECB Clubmark club.
Regards
England & Wales Cricket Board"
I can not tell you how much this pleases me! It is a total vindication of the way we run our club for the benefit of all members and the local community. We are well organised, we are current in our policies and standards, we are future looking and aspirational, we have a wonderful structured junior section with passionate well-qualified coaches, helpers and leadership. We are also determined to fair and inclusive.
70 plus criteria and questions make up the overall award which has taken months to fulfill. Gleno you have been diligent and rigorous to get us over the line, thank you. But this is a collective effort; it is not possible with one or two hands. To all of you that put your hands up and contribute at our special cricket club, thank you too!
I was speaking today to our Clubmark contact at Middlesex cricket to thank him for all his help today. To put this into context we are one of around 70 clubs across Middlesex who is now kitemarked. But some clubs at first time of trying did not meet the criteria and quite a few clubs failed to renew their status. This proves that this is not given away and is hard earned.
I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. our club then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
James
