Where has the sun gone!!?? Suddenly our covers are very much in use and the outfield is green again. Not what we'd expect in August, but every cloud has a silver lining I suppose!
Both Saturday teams are having solid seasons, 1s are currently 6th and the 2s an impressive 3rd. Well done to all players and thanks to Kieran, Gillers, Mark and Garry for all their efforts getting everyone organised. Our Sunday XI are also thriving under the leadership of Andy and Steve with older Juniors coming through and playing adult cricket. This is brilliant to see and makes all the hard work to run our club worth it.
Thanks also goes to our volunteer umpires and scorers and their efforts over the season. I'm pleased to say that Middlesex Cricket also recognise these important contributions to our game. They are hosing some drinks on Tuesday at Lord's and a few members of our club will be attending.
We are already thinking about next season. If anyone wants to take a coaching qualification over the winter to coach, umpire or score then now is the time to get booked; the club will cover all costs. Please contact Kieran, Gleno or myself if you are interested. We are all volunteers so if you or you know someone that would like to get involved then please let one of us know.
As part of the Clubmark renewal we realised that we have to update our Safeguarding Policy. Please find it attached to the right of this message and have a read. We take all such policies seriously as a Management Committee and ask that all members make themselves familiar with all such policies.
I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. our club then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
James
