Membership letters are out and I hope, safely received. I know I've said it before, but it never fails to amaze me how much has to happen off the field in order for us to play cricket on it! Thanks to all members who have been taking courses, revalidating certificates and/or planning for the new season.
What other news from me? Firstly we are running our second first aid course of the off season on Thursday (23rd) open to all local cricket clubs and we have a couple of spare places. Course starts at 19.30 and is two hours long. If you would like to attend, especially if you are a helper or parent on a Wednesday, please let me know. There is no cost to you and you will receive a certificate valid for 3 years.
A reminder that work rotas are on the 1st / 2nd and 8th / 9th April. With the President’s Working Lunch taking place on Saturday 8th. All help is needed both inside and out so please come along and do your bit.
The fixture card is almost finalised. Thanks to all businesses for supporting and to Gleno, Dave and Bingo for drafting and collating. There is no comparison of where we are now, as opposed to where the card was 10 years ago (I blame the last membership secretary!), it is a true work of art which I look forward to sending out soon.
Please note that our pre-season players’ meeting will be held on 18th April in the Pavilion. Please come along and voice your questions to Kieran, Mark and Andy.
On Friday we are hosting a quiz on behalf of the charity www.sense.org.uk which is a deaf and blind organisation. Doors / bar open at 19.00 and the Quiz starts at 19.30. It's up to 8 per table, £5 per person. Grand draw tickets are also available with 15+ prizes including meal for two, food hampers, toiletries, cuddly toy, hair cut voucher etc. Please contact Glenn Ayres on 07732 871200 if you would like to attend.
One of the main reasons we switched our main affiliation to Middlesex a few years ago was to take advantage of their Affiliate Membership Offer. The attached link gives all details but essentially for £25 adult and £10 junior, gives you free entry to all Middlesex games including T20 blast games. Just one ticket for the T20 is £20 in advance so you ‘do the math’. In the past only a few members have taken the offer up which has always astonished me. Please have a read of the attached and I will forward the application form to all members when I receive it from Middlesex.
Finally, for now we have had a couple of questions re. subs around full playing members and junior fees. For clarification please refer to the other attachment on this mail.
I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management. If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. our club then please let me know.
Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes
James
